The Bradford City FC Community Foundation congratulates all pupils who have achieved the necessary GCSE results to be admitted to our Football and Education Programme.
Following the release of GCSE results on the 24th August 2023, the Foundation has welcomed 32 students as its next intake.
The Programme, which offers combined education alongside the opportunity to play football for boys and girls, is based out of the University of Bradford Stadium and other facilities run by the Foundation and its partners. Education and coaching is provided by fully qualified teachers employed by Bradford City AFC. Studies incorporate National, Extended and Foundation diplomas for learners aged 16 to 18, and 18 and above.
Dave Stansfield, Head of Education, said: “We are delighted to welcome our new recruits onto the Football and Education programme. These young people will enjoy an outstanding education, whilst playing football against other professional football community Foundations across the country. This combines with real-world work experience within a professional football environment. After two years of growth and development they will leave with a foothold in either the football industry or a pathway into higher education.”
The new intake will commence their studies on Monday 4th September, with a blend of lessons and football training structured to the standards of a professional footballer’s typical week, with games against other professional clubs’ Foundation teams played midweek.
