Bradford City FC Community Foundation, the official charity of Bradford City AFC, have teamed up with the Yorkshire Women’s Forum, a local community organisation, to stage a unique fashion show which celebrates both Bradford’s rich heritage, and the importance of sustainable fashion.

The ‘Threads Together’ show will feature a sustainable fashion showcase, highlighting and celebrating a range of items from across Bradford’s rich cultural and textile heritage.

Lizzie Saunderson-Trowell, CEO of the Bradford City FC Community Foundation, said: “We are proud to be working with, and supporting, the Yorkshire Women’s Forum and the ‘Threads Together’ event. This partnership highlights how we at the Foundation are able to knit together community organisations which would not typically come through the doors of Valley Parade. We, through our support for the Greener Bantams initiative and strategic commitment to sustainability, are excited to bring people together in the name of celebrating and showcasing the Yorkshire Women’s Forum, their crucial work, and the power that football can hold in the community. We strive to offer opportunities to people of all backgrounds and interests, and highlight how all community organisations can make a difference around sustainability and social cohesion.”

Clothing items featured will include upcycled and ethically inspired designs, blending traditional influences with contemporary style, while offering attendees the chance to learn more about the impact fast fashion has on our communities, environment and the world around us.

The event seeks to combine fashion, culture and community towards a powerful cause, and all proceeds from ticket sales will support the Yorkshire Women’s Forum’s ‘Period Poverty Project’, which will provide essential products and support to women and girls across the community.

Tanu Patel, Managing Director at the Yorkshire Women’s Forum, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be partnering with Bradford City FC Community Foundation. This collaboration is a natural alignment, with both organisations sharing a strong commitment to supporting communities and improving lives. Together, we see a real opportunity to expand our work around health, wellbeing and sustainability, reaching more women and families across Bradford. We’re especially excited to be kicking off this partnership with our first event this summer, which will be a fashion show celebrating upcycled and repurposed outfits. We can’t wait to get started and make a meaningful impact together.”

The ‘Threads Together’ fashion show will take place at Valley Parade on Thursday 9th July, between 6pm and 9pm, and will be delivered in partnership by Yorkshire Women's Forum, Bradford City FC Community Foundation, Stachiw Bashir Solicitors and Another Way Women's Foundation.

Tickets for the ‘Threads Together’ fashion show can be purchased via the Foundation website here.

The fashion show will be preceded by a sustainability summit hosted at the Foundation’s City Hub, located at 36 Valley Parade, Bradford, BD8 7DZ. Community leaders, creatives, educators and changemakers are invited to explore the real impact of fashion on people and the planet. The ‘Threads Together: Sustainability Summit’ will be delivered in partnership with Yorkshire Women's Forum, Bradford City FC Community Foundation, Stachiw Bashir Solicitors, Another Way Women's Foundation and Greener Bantams.

The summit is free to attend, and will take place between 9.30am and 12.30pm on Thursday 9th July.

Interested parties can RSVP to attend the ‘Threads Together: Sustainability Summit’ via the Foundation website here.
