The Bradford City FC Community Foundation has named Pavan Sembi, the Foundation's Head of PAC, as their Premier League Community Captain in recognition of her commitment and contribution to the game and society.

Over the next two weeks, the Premier League and clubs will be celebrating ‘More Than A Game’ and highlighting the positive impact of Premier League investment into communities and clubs at every level of football.
The Premier League is investing £1.6 billion into wider football and communities between 2022 and 2025 to support football at every level of the game across England and Wales. This world-leading funding into clubs, communities and facilities positively impacts and inspires millions of people.
As part of ‘More Than A Game’, the League will be celebrating more than 100 Community Captains – individuals nominated by Premier League, EFL and National League clubs for their contribution to their local community via programmes funded by the Premier League.
Pavan has been chosen as the Foundation’s 2025 Community Captain for their incredible commitment to her community, on the back of her ongoing work overseeing the Foundation's Peer Action Collective (PAC) project.

Pav was surprised with the award at the Foundation's Positive Activities Map launch at Bradford City Hall on Monday 3rd November. The Positive Activities Map is a touchstone resource which aims to make positive, diversionary and supportive activities accessible for young people across the city. The launch was attended by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, delegates from local authorities including West Yorkshire Police, PAC funders including the Youth Endowment Fund and the Co-Op, and the Foundation's umbrella organisation EFL in the Community.
On receiving the award, Pav said: “I was very surprised to be named a Community Captain, and am made up! It was wonderful to be presented with the award in front of everyone assembled for our Map launch, a resource which I am very proud to have introduced. The Map has been informed and driven by the young people at the heart of our community, and I'd like to dedicate this award to all of them and all of their hard work.”
[Club] are proud to celebrate the achievements of our chosen Premier League Community Captain, Pav, recognising the instrumental role she has played in not only launching the Positive Activities Map, but her indefatigable efforts overseeing the whole project in Bradford. PAC continues to make local and national headlines for their work in making young peoples' communities fairer, safer places to live.
Ian Ormondroyd, Foundation CEO and former City striker, said: “It was fantastic to see Pav surprised with the award here at City Hall - the look on her face was priceless! We are all very proud of her and her achievements over her time at the Foundation, and I'm delighted to see her get some of the recognition she was absolutely due."

Premier League Director of Community Nick Perchard said: “It is so important that we continue to recognise and collectively highlight the positive impact that work within local communities has, championing those at the heart of Premier League-funded initiatives. Success on the pitch enables the Premier League to share unparallelled investment into communities and football at all levels across England and Wales.”
