WOMEN & GIRLS
FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAMME
Delivered in partnership with the Football Association, Premier League Girls' Football aims to provide opportunities for females aged 11 and over, to take part in sports in their local community. A total of 88 professional clubs run the programme, providing a variety of sessions aimed at different audiences, with almost 23,000 women and girls taking part between 2016 and 2017.
The programme has two main objectives:
-
To increase the number of women and girls playing football on a regular basis.
-
To increase the opportunities for women and girls to develop skills and confidence within the pathway as a player, coach or official.
The programme achieves this by providing Football training in a fun and informal environment, allowing participants to progress at their own pace and make friends at the same time.
We are currently delivering sessions in a variety of locations, which include Dixon's City Academy, Bradford Girls' Grammar School and Beckfoot, Thornton.
